Explanation for the generation in Matthew 24:34, Mark 13:30 and Luke 21:32
by alice.in.wonderland ini see quite a bit of inquiry about the generation in matthew 24:34, mark 13:30 and luke 21:32. in every scripture in the gospels, the term generation is referring to a wicked generation except for matthew 24:34, mark 13:30 and luke 21:32. .
then as an answer to him some of the scribes and pharisees said: teacher, we want to see a sign from you.
in reply he said to them: a wicked and adulterous generation keeps on seeking for a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of jonah the prophet.

What Do You Do For Exercise?
by minimus inin the summer i play outdoor tennis nearly everyday for about an hour and a half.
i'm going to resume racquetball in the winter which is great for cardio!.
what's your exercise pattern like?.

Cardio and weight lifting several times a week at the gym. I also love hiking and backpacking. It's a great way to see beautiful scenery while also getting a workout.

The Master spoke to me this morning. . .
by Inkie inthis morning as i lay lying in bed i was listening to music on the radio station on my headset.
when i do this, i do this so as not to disturb the wife while she is sleeping.
only this morning, she had already risen and was downstairs getting ready to go to work and just about to walk out the door.

They have a table at the local Walmart now
by life is to short inomg i just heard this morning that they have a table set up at the local walmart, so i had to drive by.
it is huge with two huge signs one spanish and one english of blown up pictures of some of the book covers like you can live forever and young people ask, etc with a card table in the middle and two very boarded looking people just sitting there.
this morning was the spanish congo's turn but the walmart is in my halls territory so the english speaking ones from my hall will man it on the english speaking times i guess.

This public table stuff, makes the JWs a target. If they don't like what someone at the door says, they can just walk away. If I talk to them they will have to either take it, or fold up their table and leave Walmart.
Great point. Witnesses usually run away when confronted with someone who actually knows how their cult works. If they ever set up shop in my town I might have to do some reverse witnessing to them. Maybe I can plant a few seeds of doubt.

if we are in this reality system of things living a life that would never come to us again ;like this is it we won't reverse our actions and so forth.. how can i know my own mind won't guide me to a hole in the matter of serving god and his org.. is me thinking i'm in the wrong path or is just the devil influencing me somehow.. what pill should i take.
red or blue.. red you wake up in worderland and everything is as it was before.. blue, you wake up to reality where things are all changed.. what should i do.

The Devil is a fictional character. So the question would be, can a fictional character influence your thoughts? Only if you believe him to be real.Red you wake up in wonderland and everything is as it was before.
Once awakened things will never be the same again, you can fake it all you want but deep down you will see through the illusion of the reality that has been presented to you as “Truth”.

Interesting conversation with a pioneer today
by ldrnomo ini went into my favorite cafe this afternoon for lunch and saw a husband and wife that go to the congregation i used to go to.
the woman is a pioneer and has been for years and her husband is an elder who i've talked to a couple of times since i stopped going to meetings 3 years ago but i have not talked to her in 3 years.. when i got my lunch, i looked up and noticed them sitting by the window so i went over to them and said hello.
he said hi but when i said hello to the woman she just kinda looked at me.

Great response to the pioneer. I don’t think I would have been able to keep my cool the way you did. The best way to act around Witnesses is to be happy and positive. If they ask let them know that things are going great, never been better. This will show them that people can actually leave their little cult and live happy fulfilling lives, the exact opposite of what they have been indoctrinated to believe. But then you get accused of being overly proud or arrogant or self-centered. You can’t win. This is actually one of the reasons why my wife and I are going to move. Witnesses are toxic, it’s best to not interact with them at all. We are kind of bored of this area anyway so it makes it that much easier to just move.

excuse my lack of computer/searching skills here, but i have been doing a search for the reason that the literature is now offered on a contribution basis only.. i remember back in the late 80's or early 90's when the announcement was made from the platform stating that we were on longer to put a price on the magazines / books,,,, just ask for a contribution.. somewhere i remember reading on this site that there was a underlying legal reason this was done, when it was announced.. everyone was either saying that this was a "speeding up" of the work, or the usual "the end must be right around the corner" routine.. i really appreciate any comments .

The Watchtower Society uses Theocratic Warfare on it's own members. They don't feel that that the rank and file members need to know the whole truth. The change in policy was in 1990, about a month after the decision came down on the Jimmy Swaggart case.
I might be overly cynical but I still can’t get over the implications of the pre-1990 policy. A publishing corporation convinces it’s followers that going door to door for free selling books and pamphlets for the organization is one of the requirements to attain “Eternal Life”. Although selling material for the organization is a big focus another requirement is recruiting new members. These new members will also perform “life-saving” work by selling literature and become recruiters for the group as well. I realize I’m simplifying a complicated issue but it still doesn’t change the facts of the situation.
